SHS Rivalries Aroused By Award Winning Rapper.

Dansoman based award winning hiphop act, Emmanuel Lartey popularly known by his stage name "Mingle" has fuelled the already heated rivalries between some of Ghana's well known senior high schools in his latest track "Back To SHS", cover of E40's "Choices".
The rapper who is a product of Accra Academy draws comparisons between his alma mata and Adisadel college, St. Mary's and Accra girls among others and also touches on a popular but baseless rumour about Krobo girls and a rather unfortunate incident that occured at Wesley Grammar a few years back in the opening verses.
Considering the positive reviews coming from both industry players and fans, the hiphop artist of the year at last year's GUMAwards has proven why he is the next big thing and is headed straight to the top.

The versatile rapper previously released his own version of "VVIP's" 'skolom' and another equally good one called 'Wahala'  both of which were warmly embraced by industry players and music lovers.
Mingle's musical career began to blossom right after senior high school although the rapper began from JHS. He raps in English, Pidgin and Ga on any given beat.
His vision is to produce positive vibes to inspire the youth to stay on track and achieve higher heights.

Back to shs cover art.

Our reporter caught up with him to ask why he decided to take us back to shs and here's what the rapper had to say;

"My fans requested for it and I decided to give it to them. Their wishes are my command. Also, I believe that shs is the place where we create the most memories on the academic ladder, so almost everyone can relate to it."

Aside the comparisons and rivalries brought to light on this record, the rapper also emphasised on some habits of high school students. For instance, most students will try all they can to avoid working on the school farm but will be the first to arrive at the ICT lab even before the period is due. Some ditch class sessions but wouldn't fail to show up during inter-zonal competitions.
